The Behan's, and Bob Behan specifically, have been stock investors since the late 1970's.  Our experience has shown that the market is generally unpredictable, that emotion carries far too much weight and most importantly, insider information that makes it to our ears is a long way from being true,"insider" information.  Not a single inside tip has worked out favorably for us in the past.

What has worked, and hopefully will continue to work, is good old bottom feeding.  This mentality can only be successful by having a good resource for determining what many call "value stocks".   "Value" can not be based on ratios alone as there are many companies that will see their share prices climb without any indication that they will make a profit. The obvious key is determining when stocks are at or near their bottoms.

Behan's Value Stock Pick's concentrates on companies and sectors that have seen their share prices beaten up excessively or for reasons not directly related to what should drive prices back up in the future.  Do all of our picks bounce back?  Unfortunately not, and it would be unrealistic to expect any analyst or stock picking system to work favorably close to 100% of the time.   However, with the standard disclaimer that "past results are no indication of future results" as a preface, Behan's Value Stock Picks have fared very well as a whole. (our 2002 picks averaged gains of +31% vs. the -23.3% perfomance of the S&P 500 and our 2003 picks ended up 42.7% vs. the S&P 500 gain of 26.4% Our 2003 Anti-Value Picks "performed" at a (negative 12.6 %) average clip for the year. For 2004, our Value Picks gained  +45% while the S&P gained 9%. Our Anti-Value picks lost 36%.)

In lieu of free trial subscriptions that try to take advantage of folks forgetting to cancel, we've chosen to use a very reasonably priced monthly subscription that must be renewed to continue receiving our alerts and newsletters.  (No unexpected charges) Our subscription base is closed at this time.
